| Jersey Overview The Jersey team comprises forty-six members of staff including an executive director, thirteen managers, supervisors and administration staff. There are twenty-six drivers, who operate the fleet of prime movers, DAF trucks and Mercedes curtain-siders, as well as vans and forklifts. A vehicle and equipment maintenance unit of six skilled staff supports all the vehicles. Jersey is also home to Huelin-Renouf's main transport office, which is responsible for the vital task of organizing transfers and tracking cargo, ensuring that each and every load is accounted for. Being an island brings its own challenges and the Jersey operations team forms a cog in a well-oiled wheel, providing outstanding and regular service to the Group's customers. Local Operations Jersey operations are conducted on two quays at St. Helier. The New North Quay is where the Company's vessel, the MV Huelin Dispatch berths, discharges and loads three times a week. She brings a variety of different cargos, usually in containers and on flats, but also as loose and oversized units. The Company has invested in a large trailer fleet, mostly flatbeds, which can load the containers directly and deliver to the customer shortly after discharge. These direct deliveries are conducted from the New North Quay and the vehicle normally returns to the quay with the empty unit ready to be shipped back to Portsmouth. The rest of the cargo, normally groupage and storage items, is moved from the New North Quay to the Company's 20,000 square feet warehouse, situated at the Victoria Quay. Here the cargo is either stored or sorted ready for delivery to the customers' premises. .If you have any questions about our Jersey operations, please do not hesitate to use the local contact details in the contacts section. |
